At Thomasson, we’re always searching for better, more efficient means of supplying our customers with high quality utility poles. Our industry-leading inventory management programs are evidence of that commitment. In fact, programs we put in place as far back as the mid 70’s (like our consignment program) have become industry standards.

The impetus for these ground breaking programs lies with our customers. What will save our customers money? What will enable us to get poles to the customer in a more timely manner? What has worked in the past and what isn’t working now? These are the types of service-oriented questions we ask ourselves day in and day out.

Stocking Programs
Responsiveness is the key to Thomasson Company's stocking programs. Our performance goals are unvarying on-time delivery, a minimum 98% of poles meeting our rigorous quality standards, lead time of five working days or less, and formidable emergency delivery capabilities.

When a customer participates in a Thomasson’s stocking program, a "staging area yard" is established in an agreed upon location and stock is kept for the exclusive use of that customer. Our self-unloading, boom trucks can and will gladly deliver in the manner each customer sees fit.

Consignment Programs
Thomasson Company pioneered the consignment distribution model for the utility pole industry back in the 70's and started a trend that remains prevalent today. Offering customers the ability to "draw down" Thomasson poles that are housed on their site, without having to make a large, upfront investment, has proven extremely advantageous for customers throughout the country and the world.

Simply put, through our consignment program utility poles owned by Thomasson Company are located and managed at various, strategic, customer-specified locations. Ownership of the poles does not transfer to the customer until material is removed from inventory by the customer.

Our largest consignment customer uses approximately 25 loads of poles per week. Our smallest, just one load of poles every two to three years. As you can see, it’s a flexible program designed to meet your unique requirements. We also are more than willing to develop annual pricing with long-term contracts for customers, if so desired.
